This is the first of what I hope to be a fun and ongoing tying and video series! I got a handful of fly tying kits, this being the first one I opened, and I am going to work my way through tying up these flies, posting videos, and sharing my experiences with tying them.
The Foam Spider Orvis Fly Tying Kit was a really simple and intuitive fly tying kit! Definitely recommend this one to anyone who is looking to catch bluegill and bass! Tying up 24 of these flies didn't take too long. My only recommendation (as I mentioned in the tying video) is to add a dab of super glue to the thread before tying down the foam body to keep the body from spinning and to add to the durability. The two colors of bodies and legs will definitely catch fish!
I am posting all 24 flies for sale in one SUPER DISCOUNTED bundle. Once they are gone I will use the proceeds to pick up another fly tying kit. Then repeat the process. I can't wait to see how many fish are caught on this pack of 24 spiders! The link to buy these flies will remain in the blog post until sold. Click here to buy the fly!
If you wanted to make your own variations of this fly, here is what I would recommend using:
