Fly Tying Corner: Frenchie Pheasant Tail Nymph

Fly Tying Corner: Frenchie Pheasant Tail Nymph

This fly is really a hybrid between the already very similar Frenchie and Pheasant Tail Nymph.  This style of fly is great at fooling trout, panfish, and pretty much anything else that lives in fresh water.

Throw this fly as a dropper under a big foam bug or stimulator, drop it under an indicator as a two fly rig (where legal), or fish it as a jigged euronymph.  All three ways will work

Materials to tie the fly:
Hook: Moonlit TOGATTA ML501 (Size 16)
Thread: Semperfli Nano Silk 30D 18/0 (Black)
Tail/Body/Wing Case: Pheasant Tail
Collar: Disco Dub (Shrimp Orange - other colors work great too)
Resin: Raid Zap (Thin)

Tools we use:
Scissors: 4" Tungsten Carbide Arrow Scissors
Bobbin: Bullet Head Ceramic Bobbin
UV Torch: RZ 365 Pro
